Bajaj The auto company has decided to reduce the engine size of its bikes. The main reason behind this is the new GST slab. Bikes with engines below 350cc now attract only 18% GST. Recently the company has launched Bajaj NS400Z. Similarly, KTM has also introduced a version of the KTM 390 Duke with a 349cc engine. Let us know about both the bikes.
Who is better in engine and performance?
The Bajaj NS400Z is powered by a 349.13cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine replaces the old 373cc engine. This engine produces 40 hp of power at 9,000 rpm and 33.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke is powered by a 350cc engine, which generates 41.5 hp of power and 33.5 Nm of torque. In terms of performance, the KTM seems to be slightly ahead.

Differences in features
Bajaj NS400Z offers modern features for the rider. It includes various ABS ride modes like Road, Rain, Sport and Offroad as well as Electronic Traction Control. The KTM 390 Duke features a 5-inch TFT display. It gets traction control, various ride modes, track screen, launch control and cornering ABS. Apart from this, the KTM also has additional features like ride-by-wire, Quickshifter+, Supermoto ABS and Type-C charging port.

Who’s Ahead in Hardware?
The Bajaj NS400Z features a 43 mm USD front suspension and a 6-step adjustable Nitrox monoshock at the rear, which offers a comfortable ride on various roads. It gets 17-inch tubeless tires (110/70 front and 140/70 rear). The bike has a ground clearance of 168 mm, wheelbase of 1,344 mm and seat height of 807 mm. It has a fuel tank of 12 liters and curb weight is 174 kg.
On the other hand, the KTM 390 Duke offers a strong braking setup with 320 mm front and 240 mm rear disc brakes. It has a ground clearance of 183 mm. The seat height can be adjusted between 800 and 820 mm, which is convenient for different riders. It gets a 15 liter fuel tank.
How much does it cost?
The ex-showroom price of the Bajaj NS400Z is around Rs 1.94 lakh. Whereas the KTM 390 Duke (350cc version) has been priced at around Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
