Coal India Q4 net profit soars 11% YoY to ₹10,839 crore, revenue jumps 6%; dividend declared

Coal India Q4 results: Coal India on Monday, April 27, reported its earnings for the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 financial year (Q4 FY26), posting an 11.15% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹10,839.18 crore.
In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, it had logged a profit of ₹9,751.64 crore, according to a regulatory filing.
The Maharatna company's revenue from operations advanced 5.75% YoY to ₹46,490.03 crore during the quarter under review, compared to ₹43,961.56 crore in the March quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q4 FY25).
At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹17,917 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, marking a 12% YoY increase from ₹16,040 crore in the year-ago period.
Its EBITDA margin expanded to 39% for the reporting quarter, from 36% in the January-March quarter of FY25.
During the quarter, its coal production declined marginally YoY to 239 million tonnes (MT), as against 202.36 MT in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Furthermore, coal offtake for Q4 FY26 stood at 199.14 MT, down 2% YoY from 202.36 MT in the March quarter of FY25.
Final dividend
Coal India's board of directors also declared a final dividend of ₹5.25 per equity share with a face value of ₹10 each for FY26, as recommended by the Audit Committee of Coal India at its meeting.
"Payment of Final Dividend for FY 2025-26 shall be made subject to approval of shareholders in the ensuing AGM," the company added.
Coal India stock performance
Shares of Coal India closed 0.77% lower at ₹452.50 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday ahead of its earnings announcement.
The scrip has advanced 3% in the past week and 2% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has jumped more than 13%.
While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹476 on March 13, 2026, it touched a year's low of ₹368.65 per equity share on August 28, 2025.
Coal India has a total market capitalisation of ₹2.8 lakh crore as of April 27, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
