David Farr gives an answer on The Night Manager Season 3 release date
David Farr has shared an update on the expected timeline for the third season of The Night Manager. He confirmed that work is already underway while assuring that the next season will not face a delay similar to the gap between the first two seasons.
According to DeadlineFarr said, “Right now, I feel the deep weight of doom of stress about it because I’m the one who has to actually do the writing of the damn thing.” Speaking during a recent panel, the creator also acknowledged the pressure of continuing the story. “It’s a huge challenge. It’ll be very exciting. And it won’t take as long as the last one, I promise,” he added.
Discussing why the series took so long to return for its second chapter, Farr explained that there was no initial plan to continue the story after the first season. He said, “There was never any expectation that we would go ahead and make a second one, because you just don’t do that to great novelists.” The creator added that the show’s strong success prompted discussions about a continuation. He noted that John le Carré, whose novel the series is based on, was ultimately open to expanding the story.
Farr also indicated that the third season is expected to continue and resolve key developments from the second installment. Referring to the darker ending, he said, “It was important to us all because the world is a tough place at the moment, and it didn’t feel right not to reflect that.” However, he added that Season 3 will carry the themes of justice, redemption, and change.
