The Government of Delhi has outlined a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s welfare across the capital, with a focus on areas such as safety, education, health, and financial empowerment. The measures form part of a broader policy framework that seeks to address multiple aspects of women’s well-being. According to official details, a budget allocation of ₹7,406 crore has been earmarked for programs related to women and children. Authorities stated that the allocation is intended to support a range of welfare schemes and infrastructure measures designed to improve access to services and opportunities.

Among the initiatives highlighted are financial assistance schemes, including payments to beneficiaries under programs aimed at supporting girls. More than 70,000 beneficiaries have reportedly received pending financial support exceeding ₹190 crore under one such initiative. Other measures include the distribution of over 1.3 lakh bicycles to girls to facilitate access to education and mobility. The government has also introduced schemes such as the Saheli Pink Smart Card, with over 5 lakh women reportedly enrolled.

Additional provisions include free gas cylinders during festivals such as Holi and Diwali, aimed at supporting households. In terms of safety and infrastructure, measures such as installation of CCTV cameras, deployment of green e-autos, and the introduction of sanitary pad vending machines have been highlighted. These initiatives are intended to enhance safety, accessibility, and convenience in public spaces.

Officials noted that the initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to expand social welfare programs and improve support systems for women across the city. The focus remains on integrating financial assistance, safety measures, and access to essential services. The developments reflect continued efforts to strengthen policy measures related to gender-focused welfare, with authorities indicating that additional initiatives may be introduced in the future.
