Islamabad, 26 April. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reached Pakistan again on Sunday night in less than 24 hours. Araghchi had gone to Oman from Islamabad on Saturday itself and today he met the Sultan of Oman and other officials in Muscat. As per schedule, Araghchi will leave for Moscow after meeting with officials in Islamabad.

Araghchi met Asim Munir

After reaching Islamabad again, Abbas Araghchi met Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Iranian Foreign Minister is understood to present his government’s proposed framework for resuming peace talks with the US. Earlier, when President Trump had canceled the visit of his envoys to Islamabad, he had said that this should not be construed as hostility.

Trump said – Iranians want to talk so they can communicate

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump again said that ‘the war with Iran will end soon and his country will win.’ Trump also said, ‘If the Iranians want to talk, they can communicate.’

Earlier on Saturday, Trump had canceled the meeting of the possible US delegation on Iran war in Pakistan. This decision was taken when the Iranian delegation had left Islamabad. Trump had said that special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would waste too much time in this. He also said that if Iran wants to talk, all it has to do is call.

Meanwhile, government sources in Pakistan told Reuters on Sunday that US forces had removed security equipment from Islamabad, indicating that no US delegation is likely to return for talks anytime soon, according to a report by the BBC’s Arabic service.
