New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star Rinku Singh surprised fans with a sensational catch at the boundary rope to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Aiden Markram in theIPL 2026 clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 26.

Chasing a 156-run target, LSG got off to a disappointing start as KKR pacer Vaibhav Arora dismissed Mitchell Marsh for 2 runs in the second over of the innings. After the early setback, Markram stitched a 57-run partnership with skipper Rishabh Pant to help LSG recover.

But Rinku’s catch on the boundary line again brought KKR into the game. Cameron Green bowled a full delivery, and Markram (31 off 27) got forward to loft it. He had hit it cleanly, but Rinku at long-off showed great presence of mind and took it with both feet close to the cushions. He threw the ball up, went out and came back to take it.

Earlier, KKR got off to a horrific start as Mohsin Khan bowled brilliantly to take a five-wicket haul in his four-over spell. He dismissed Tim Siefert (0), Ajinkya Rahane (10) and Rovman Powell (1) cheaply to leave KKR reeling at 31/4 in 7.1 overs. He came back for his second spell and dismissed Cameron Green for 34, and also removed Anukul Roy for a duck on the very next delivery.

But, Rinku Singh batted well and smacked four consecutive maximums in the final over to help KKR post 155/7 in 20 overs. He scored an unbeaten 83 runs off 51 balls with the help of five sixes and seven boundaries.
