New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings fans were furious on Sunday, April 26 when MS Dhoni missed his 8th consecutive match of IPL 2026. Dhoni was not in the team in the match against Gujarat Titans in Chepauk. Fans became angry due to not getting any clear information from the franchise or captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Speculations about Dhoni’s retirement have also increased on social media.
MS Dhoni did not get a chance even in the 8th match
Let us tell you that initially it was believed that Dhoni would be out for the first two weeks of the tournament. But now this gap has stretched quite long. Dhoni is seen in the training session of CSK. Batting coach Michael Hussey said that the recovery of the former Indian captain is going well.
The team wants them to come on the field only after being 100 percent fit. About half an hour before the toss, discussions had started that Dhoni was not in the team bus. ‘Thala’ was not seen in the bus leaving for Chepauk and later this proved to be true.
CSK fans angry over keeping Dhoni out
It is noteworthy that during the toss, Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad did not say anything about former captain MS Dhoni. Due to this CSK fans became even more disappointed. Many fans appealed to CSK and Dhoni not to play with their emotions.
Some fans believe that Dhoni has quietly taken retirement from the team. Now he is only in the role of mentor. In such a situation, his chances of playing in the remaining matches of the tournament are less. Fans are demanding clear information from the franchise.
He says that if Dhoni is not playing then the team should tell it openly. The silence is increasing speculations. There was disappointment in the stadium also after not seeing Dhoni in Chepauk. CSK seems incomplete without ‘Thala’, this is the feeling of the fans.
