Beef (Buffering) Season 3 has nothing confirmed one way or the other – there is still a way to continue!
As of now, Netflix has not ordered or canceled Beef. However, it is considered an active project, and depending on how well Season 2 performs and what type of reviews it receives will determine the fate of Beef.
Creator Lee Sung Jin said in his interview with Rolling Stone that he had three seasons planned in his mind. At the Season 2 premiere, Lee Sung Jin indicated he is fine with the ending story, “I will go to my one-year-old daughter and try to get some sleep.” He also stated that if he had the chance, he would be open to continuing.
Beef was set up to be a clean slate with two different lead males in both seasons, with a completely different story, location, and characters presented from Season 1 to Season 2. If Season 3 does get picked up, expect another ensemble cast, location, and stand-alone story revolving around the themes of anger class and relationships between humans.
Jin has extended his contract with Netflix through 2025, maintaining his creative possibilities. As Season 2 creates great excitement and buzz concerning Emmy Awards, a renewal may happen this year.
There is a chance of Season 3, but there are no guarantees. No set premiere date, no cast, no script. In the world of *Beef*, silence does not mean you have concluded; it simply means there is a “pause” until we see a re-collision.
