In Washington, recent social media activity suggests that the man arrested for the shooting incident at the White House correspondents' dinner is Cole Tomas Allen, a 31-year-old from Torrance, California. His online profiles reveal him to be a well-educated tutor and an aspiring video game developer.

A profile photo from May 2025 aligns with the appearance of the individual captured during the arrest, which was shared by President Donald Trump on social media. This image, found on LinkedIn, depicts Allen in his graduation attire after obtaining a master's degree in computer science from California State University-Dominguez Hills.

Allen previously graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena in 2017. His college activities included participation in a Christian student fellowship and a campus group that engaged in Nerf gun battles.

During his senior year, a local ABC station featured Allen in a segment about innovative technologies aimed at assisting the elderly, highlighting his creation of a prototype for a new emergency brake designed for wheelchairs.

Federal campaign finance records indicate that Allen made a $25 contribution to a political action committee supporting Kamala Harris's presidential campaign in 2024.

For the past six years, Allen has been employed at C2 Education, a firm specializing in college admissions counseling and test preparation. He was recognized as the teacher of the month in a 2024 post on the company's Facebook page, although the company has not yet responded to inquiries regarding his arrest.

Additionally, Allen has shared that he developed a video game for the Steam platform focused on molecular chemistry and is currently working on a new top-down shooter game set in outer space.
