Love knows no boundaries and often defies societal norms. A remarkable love story has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, where a young woman transformed her identity to pursue her love. This tale revolves around Savita and Pooja, whose friendship blossomed into romance, leading them to break societal constraints and embark on a new journey together. In a bold move, the girl underwent a gender change in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, to be with her beloved. Both women hail from Rajasthan.
The romance began during SSC coaching in Jaipur, where 31-year-old Savita befriended Pooja, who lived with her father, Ramesh. Their friendship deepened over time, evolving into love. However, societal and familial pressures kept them apart.
To be with her love, Savita took a daring step and changed her gender on May 31, becoming Lalit. In November, Lalit and Pooja tied the knot at the Arya Samaj Vedic Institute in Jaipur, a secret known only to them.
Pooja kept their relationship hidden from her family, who had arranged her marriage to a man. To escape this situation, she concocted a story about pursuing a B.Ed. and left for Bharatpur, turning off her phone once she arrived.
Lalit and Pooja were living as a married couple in Mathura. When Pooja's family reported her missing after failing to locate her, the police tracked her down to Mahavan in Mathura. During questioning, Lalit claimed to work at a pharmacy college, with Pooja living as his wife.
Pooja expressed her desire to stay with Lalit to the police. Since both are adults, the authorities allowed them to remain together. However, the couple now faces challenges as their previously discreet relationship has become public knowledge. Lalit, formerly Savita, has become a sensation on social media. The couple is now planning to leave Mathura.
