BBC presenter Gabby Logan shared how the London Marathon had to be slightly delayed after British wheelchair racer Eden Rainbow-Cooper suffered a puncture. Speaking to Paula Radcliffe and Tanni Grey-Thompson, Logan revealed that the 24-year-old had endured a puncture in her wheel shortly before the race.

Speaking live on the BBC, Logan said: "We're just hearing, I was going to talk to you about the elite wheelchair racers, Rainbow-Cooper has got a puncture, and this might delay the start of the race."

Shortly after her update, the women's wheelchair race went ahead, but without Rainbow-Cooper who was absent from the start. However, she made her start just minutes later after the early issue, but it was a blow to her preparations.

It had been quite the successful build-up to the marathon for the British athlete before then, who earned her second victory at the Boston Marathon last month.

Rainbow-Cooper completed the course in an unofficial time of 1:30:51, as she surpassed runner-up Catherine Debrunner of Switzerland by more than two minutes in the women's wheelchair race. She became the first British woman to win the US-based race in 2024 and claimed a silver medal two years prior at the Commonwealth Games in the marathon (T54) event.

Speaking in 2024 about the biggest moments in her career, Rainbow-Cooper said: "Boston was undoubtedly the best day in my racing career. All that hard work I'd put in was worth it. It's led to a hunger to feel that sense of achievement again." She revealed that replicating her success on the Paralympics stage was her next step.

"I'll be on the start line with eight other girls who have won marathon majors. I want this to continue into my future, where hopefully I can win many more."

The wheelchair racer made her Paralympic debut later that year in Paris where she competed in in the 1500m, 5000m and marathon in the T54 classification as she finished 7th in 1500m while failing to finish the 5000m or marathon.
