Released globally on April 24, the film features Jaafar Jackson portraying the legendary King of Pop. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has attracted audiences to theaters. In India, it has started to gain momentum after a slow start, showing an increase in attendance on its second day. This surge helped the film surpass the Rs 10 crore mark at the Indian box office.

In the United States, Michael achieved the highest opening day ever for a biopic, raking in $39.5 million, surpassing the previous record held by Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which opened at $33 million. Early projections indicate that the film could reach $100 million by the end of its opening weekend. Jaafar Jackson, who has received acclaim for his performance, expressed his gratitude to fans, stating, "Wow so incredible to see!! The world has spoken and everyone is showing out.
