The flames that suddenly broke out late Saturday night in Anna Nagar area of Bhopal put the entire area in panic. The fire that broke out in the garbage transfer station at around 12 o’clock in the night became so terrible that smoke and fire were clearly visible in the sky far and wide.

Got under control after 10 hours of effort
The fire control room was alerted as soon as information about the massive fire in Bhopal was received. Fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot from different parts of the city. Vehicles arrived from a total of 11 fire stations including Govindpura, Fatehgarh, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Kolar and Gandhinagar.
More than 50 firefighters and water tankers were continuously trying to extinguish the fire, but the fire was so intense that it took about 10 hours to control it. By morning the situation came under control. During this operation of the massive fire in Bhopal, the fire team stopped the fire from spreading by continuously pouring water and separating the garbage.
Big challenge due to fire
It was difficult to extinguish the massive fire in Bhopal because there was a huge amount of inflammable material present in the garbage transfer station. According to the information, there was a pile of about 150 tonnes of recycled clothes, along with 25 tonnes of garbage. The fire first broke out in the same recycling unit, which was closed for about a month. Although it is not yet clear what caused the fire, but due to such a large amount of garbage and clothes, the fire spread rapidly.
No casualties, but an atmosphere of fear
Amidst the massive fire in Bhopal, the matter of relief is that there was no loss of life in this accident. But the magnitude of the fire was so much that people nearby could not sleep the whole night. Difficulty in breathing due to smoke and fear of flames were clearly visible in the minds of people. The team of Municipal Corporation, Police and Fire Brigade remained deployed on the spot till morning, so that no new problem emerged.
