Biggest celebrities taking part in the London Marathon 2026

A host of celebrities are taking on the huge challenge today across London.

The London Marathon is back after a record-breaking 1.13 million ballot applications from the UK and beyond. Almost 60,000 runners will be taking to the streets of the nation's capital on a mission to complete the 26.2-mile route. Some big celebrities are also taking part in the 46th edition of the London Marathon - here express.co.uk takes a look at which stars are swapping their red carpet shoes for trainers.

Cynthia Erivo, who is perhaps best known for her incredible role as Elphaba in Wicked, is taking part in the event again after finishing it in 2022. The last time she ran the course, she completed it in an impressive 3:35:36.

Happy Valley villain James Norton is taking on his first London Marathon for the charity Breakthrough T1D following his own diagnosis of type 1 diabetes when he was 22 years old.

Ex-footballer and Strictly Come Dancing star Tony Adams is tackling his first-ever London Marathon. The former Arsenal and England captain is running the marathon in support of the charity, joining #TeamForward alongside 24 others. The chairity helps raise money for people overcoming addition and crime cycles.

Cricket legend Sir Alastair Cook is running the event with his brother this year for the Ruth Strauss Foundation. The 41-year-old sporting star also completed the marathon last year.

McFly drummer Harry Judd is returning to the race this year - and he's one speedy runner. Last year, he completed the marathon in an amazing 3:15.

The Strictly Come Dancing star who has type 1 diabetes is raising money for Diabetes UK. He told Runners' World: " I love running marathons in places where nobody knows me. I've run Rome a couple of times and the Midnight Sun once. Nobody knew me, so I could suffer in peace during the second half!"
