New Delhi: A shocking incident took place during the Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

The high-voltage match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw a run-fest on the field.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a massive total of 264 for 2, powered by a century from KL Rahul.

Chasing the huge target, Punjab Kings got off to a blazing start with boundaries and sixes. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya provided an aggressive opening.

However, Delhi Capitals suffered a setback when South African cricketer Lungi Ngidi was seriously injured while fielding and had to leave the field.

While attempting to take a catch, Ngidi fell down and suffered a severe injury to his neck and the back of his head. The match was stopped for around 15 minutes. Medical staff rushed to the field and provided first aid before he was taken to the hospital in an ambulance for further treatment.

Second setback for Delhi team

During practice sessions, a young Delhi Capitals batsman was also injured. Eighteen-year-old Sahil Parakh was hit on the face by a ball while batting in the nets and was admitted to hospital. Soon after, Ngidi also suffered an injury.
