Knews Desk- In today’s era, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming a part of our lives. While on one hand this technology is making work easier and faster, on the other hand new concerns are also arising regarding its misuse. Recently, a similar case came to light which created a stir on social media and forced people to think about digital security. The case is to a person who with the help of AI created a picture of a bank check which looked completely real. It is being told that this check was worth about Rs 69,000 and it was so intricately designed that at first glance anyone could believe it to be genuine. In this cheque, the name of the bank, account number and even the MICR line were shown with such accuracy that it became difficult for common people to differentiate between real and fake.
As soon as this picture surfaced on social media platform X (earlier Twitter), it quickly went viral. Many people were surprised to see this, while some expressed concern that if AI can create fake documents so easily then how dangerous its misuse could be in the future. The discussion even reached whether passports, visas and other important documents would also be made in a similar manner in the future. The person who created this check himself admitted that technology is advancing so fast that it is becoming difficult to differentiate between genuine and fake. His words forced many people to think that we are entering an era where it would be difficult to determine the truth of something just by looking at it with the eyes.
However, cyber and banking experts have advised people not to be too worried in this matter. He says that even though AI can make the picture of a check look very real, it is not so easy to cheat the real banking system. Genuine checks have many security features that go beyond just looks. For example, checks issued by banks are printed on special security paper that cannot be copied by ordinary printers or digital images. Additionally, the VOID mark and other security symbols on checks are visible only in ultraviolet (UV) light. The banking system approves the transaction only after examining all these technical aspects.
Still, experts believe that the threat has not completely ended. If the use of technology like AI falls into the wrong hands, it can easily become a means of cheating common people. Especially those people who trust things online without checking are at greater risk.
This incident is a warning that the faster technology is advancing, the more important digital vigilance has become. In the coming times, people will need to be more careful while viewing and understanding any information or document online.
