Princess Anne was up early this morning for an important service
Princess Anne was up early this morning as she attended a service to mark Anzac Day. The Princess Royal was wrapped up warm in a long dark green coat as she attended the Dawn Service at Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner.
At the service, which lasted about 45 minutes, Anne listened to various readings. The service, organised by the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions, also included the Last Post, silence, reveille and national anthems.
Here are some incredible pictures of Princess Anne this morning...
The Princess Royal, 75, wore her long dark green coat to the service. After the readings, the princess laid a wreath before departing and signed a book of remembrance.Anzac Day is an important day in the royal calendar, and has been marked in London since King George V attended the first service at Westminster Abbey in 1916 to mark the anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli. The services are held to commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who have lost their lives in conflict and recognise all those who have served.
Anne has received plenty of praise from royal fans online for her attendance at the service this morning. One fan wrote on X: "HRH Anne the Princess Royal is a woman we can all look up to." Someone else said: "Our Princess Royal." The King's sister looked poignant as she attended the service this morning.
