In IPL 2026 Royal Challengers Bengaluru extended their winning run by registering 5-wickets win over the Gujarat Titans on Friday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This victory further stamped RCB authority in the tournament and now the franchise stands as the most successful in any particular stadium history.
The win took RCB's win tally to 50 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which also includes any matches won via a Super Over. This puts them in fourth place on the list, behind Mumbai Indians (58 at the Wankhede), Kolkata Knight Riders (55 at Eden Gardens) and Chennai Super Kings (53 at Chepauk). SRH (40 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium) sit behind RCB.
Chasing is RCB's mantra
It further cement RCB's tag as one of the best chasers in 200+ run chases in the IPL. RCB have chased 206 runs in Bengaluru against Gujarat in 2026, one of the five successful 200+ run chases of the season, along with 228 against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow (2025), 206 against GT in Bengaluru (2026), 204 against Kings XI Punjab in Bengaluru (2010), 202 against SRH in Bengaluru (2026) and 201 against GT in Ahmedabad (2024). They now sit fourth in the IPL history for successful 200+ run chases with five wins, withPunjab Kings(10), Mumbai Indians (6), Rajasthan Royals (5) andSunrisers Hyderabad(5) sitting above them.
Interestingly, the rivalry between RCB and GT has now become synonymous with chasing scores, and all seven matches that these two franchises have played against each other so far have been won by the side that has chased the total. Four wins for RCB, three for GT.
At home this season, RCB have been dominant and have won four out of five matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium with Delhi Capitals being the only side to emerge victorious against them.

Kohli & Padikkal lay the foundation, Krunal seals it
Chasing a formidable 206, RCB were dealt a blow early when Mohammed Siraj dismissed Jacob Bethell to leave them at 26/1 in the third over. However, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal joined hands to revive the chase and build a substantial partnership to ensure that RCB remained on course to chase the total.
Kohli, who smashed 81 off just 44 deliveries, was supported by Padikkal who scored 55 off only 27 deliveries. Together they added 115 runs in just 59 balls which was the perfect bedrock for the RCB chase.
However, the moment the two were separated, the game turned into a seesaw battle as Rashid Khan and Manav Suthar continued to pick up wickets, and the score read 175/5 in 16 overs. 31 runs from the last four overs put immense pressure on the RCB side, and it was up to Krunal Pandya and Tim David to finish the chase.
Pandya, who remained unbeaten on 23 off 12 deliveries, took the reins with authority in the death overs. Hit 15 off the 18th over to turn the tables towards RCB. David finished on 10 and the chase was completed in the 19th over as RCB recorded 206/5 in 18.5 overs.
The win propelled RCBto second place in the IPL 2026 table. They have 10 points from 7 matches and have five wins against two losses, making it one of the best starts in their history in the league.
