Synopsis

Reliance Jio reported a rise in ARPU to ₹214 in Q4 FY26, with its subscriber base exceeding 524 million. The company's 5G adoption surged, reaching 268 million users, and its fixed broadband business gained significant market share. Enhanced services and new bundled packs are expected to drive continued growth.

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Limited on Friday reported a rise in average revenue per user (ARPU) for its telecom arm Reliance Jio Infocomm to ₹214 in the fourth quarter of FY26, as its total subscriber base crossed 524 million, supported by higher customer engagement and an improved subscriber mix.

The company said ARPU growth was partly impacted by a lower number of days in the quarter, even as Jio added 9.1 million net subscribers, taking its total user base past the 524 million mark. Monthly churn remained stable at 1.7%.

Data consumption trends remained robust, with per capita usage rising to 42.3 GB per month and total data traffic growing around 35% year-on-year during the quarter.

Jio’s 5G rollout continued to drive user additions, with its 5G subscriber base reaching 268 million as of March 2026. The company said 5G now accounts for about 55% of its total wireless data traffic, underscoring strong adoption of next-generation services.

“Jio played a crucial role in connecting India to the Internet era and with over 524 million subscribers across India is now positioned as the digital gateway to the Intelligence era. Jio's state-of-the-art connectivity and edge compute infrastructure make it the principal gateway through which AI services reach Indian consumers, households and businesses. This will sustain Jio's industry-leading growth for many years to come," said Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm.

The company also highlighted continued momentum in its fixed broadband business, where it added around 10 million subscribers during FY26. Total fixed broadband users stood at 27.1 million at the end of March, giving Jio a market share of approximately 43%, up 10 percentage points over the past year. Its Jio AirFiber service, with a subscriber base of about 13 million, contributed more than 75% of these additions.

Further, Jio said it has upgraded its fixed broadband services by transitioning to non-line-of-sight hardware, aimed at expanding its addressable market and improving deployment efficiency. It also enhanced its offerings with a new Live TV experience featuring over 1,000 channels, voice-first discovery, and WiFi 6 routers to support higher device connectivity and improved security.

The company expects the ongoing IPL 2026 season to provide a seasonal demand boost, in line with trends seen in previous years. During the quarter, Jio launched new bundled “JioHome Cricket Season Packs” with quarterly plans, offering over 1,000 digital TV channels, unlimited WiFi, and up to 16 premium OTT apps at an effective monthly price of ₹555.
