A man lost Rs 74,000 in the One Click Loan scam.

Encash Loan Fraud: Getting a loan from a bank involves a lot of hassle. You have to check your eligibility, submit numerous documents, and even visit the bank. Therefore, we always choose the easy way out, especially when it comes to small loans for small expenses. In such cases, we rely on small apps or small loans that transfer money to our accounts with just one click. This is how a Bengaluru man lost thousands of rupees from his account.

What's the whole matter?
The director of a Bengaluru-based company has fallen victim to a similar scam. According to a report in the Times of India, the incident occurred on April 15th, when a resident of Banashankari received a message and call from an unknown number. The message read, "Last day to redeem reward points is over," along with a link that needed to be clicked.

Trusting the message proved costly.
The 56-year-old man believed the message and call and clicked on the link. He was then asked to pay a fee of ₹34 to receive the gift and reward points. He then made the payment using his credit card, and within moments, ₹73,889 was deducted from his card. Making a small payment proved so costly that he was defrauded of thousands of rupees.

Do you make these mistakes too?
These are small mistakes that can be costly for anyone, so you should be very careful to avoid them.

  • If you receive a call or message from an unknown number, ignore it.
  • Do not click on any unknown link.
  • Especially the one that says 'Last Day to Redeem'.
  • If anything like this happens, immediately complain to the police and cyber crime.
