From ‘Thalaivaa’ Rajinikanth to Kamal Haasan and Dhanush, everyone came to get blue ink done on their finger. At the same time, Thalapathy Vijay, who entered the electoral fray with his new party, also cast his vote, claiming from two seats.

South superstar Thalapathy Vijay’s party ‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’ (TVK) is contesting alone on all 234 seats in Tamil Nadu this time. Vijay himself is a candidate from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East, making the contest quite interesting. A huge crowd of fans gathered to get a glimpse of Vijay who came to cast his vote. Apart from them, big stars like Trisha Krishnan and Dhanush also stood in the queue and exercised their franchise.
Vijay Sethupathi and Vikram Prabhu made a special appeal to the youth.
After voting in Chennai, South actor Vijay Sethupathi, while talking to the media, appealed to the public to vote with enthusiasm. He said, “Please, come and vote, this is our biggest responsibility.” While giving a message to the youth, actor Vikram Prabhu said that increasing discussion on politics is a good sign. He expressed hope that the young generation will be aware about the future of the country and will take responsible decisions for a better tomorrow.
Ruckus in Bengal: Stone pelting, lathi charge and clash between workers
On one hand, peaceful voting is going on in Tamil Nadu, while on the other hand there are reports of violence from West Bengal. The atmosphere became tense in Murshidabad after a clash between TMC workers supporting Humayun Kabir, where even stone pelting and lathicharge took place. Siliguri also saw a face-to-face fight between BJP and TMC workers. Till 11 am, 41.11% voting has been recorded in Bengal and 37.56% in Tamil Nadu. Complaints of EVM malfunction have also come to light from many places in Bengal.
