Three Indian cricketers received suspension from all cricket matches because they attacked an under-19 coach which resulted in their suspension. The Cricket Association of Puducherry, which operates under the Board of Control for Cricket in India, has imposed strict disciplinary measures against three players while it has initiated legal proceedings through a chargesheet for their criminal conduct.
The IPL 2026 season has brought disturbing incidents which disrupt Indian cricket. The country faces major problems because players who should show respect to coaches as mentors have disrespectful behavior toward their mentors. The Puducherry side charges three prominent players, J Karthikeyan, A Aravindaraj, and S Santhosh Kumaran, with attacking Mr. Venkataraman, the under-19 team coach.
The plaintiff brought formal charges against the three suspects after the December 8, 2025 incident. The authorities have not disclosed the reasons behind the players' supposed attempt to murder their coach. The authorities at Sedurapet police station charged the cricketers with both assault and attempted murder through their official chargesheet. The Hon'ble Judicial Magistrate-IV Court in Puducherry currently has the case under its jurisdiction.
The Cricket Association of Pudoucherry imposed an immediate suspension on the players which prohibits them from participating in any cricket-related activities. The CAP maintains its membership with the BCCI which serves as the primary cricket governing organization in India. The association has prohibited J Karthikeyan, A Aravindaraj, and S Santhosh Kumaran from entering all CAP facilities which include the Siechem ground located in Tutipet Puducherry.
The three players are prohibited from competing for Puducherry in all types of competitive events. The court must handle their cases before J Karthikeyan, A Aravindaraj, and S Santhosh Kumaran can be released from their CAP suspension. ESPNcricinfo reported that CAP implemented four disciplinary measures against the players.
