Nita Ambani at the @TIME100 Summit in New York, in a Swadesh tribal lore saree that reflects the richness of India’s weaving traditions. The Tribal Lore Jamdani, woven over 24 months by Padma Shri awardee Biren Kumar Basak, brings together meenakari craftsmanship, tribal motifs, and symbolic fish borders—each detail executed with precision. Its pallu presents a tapestry of ceremonial life, while the body balances colour and composition through finely woven narratives. Currently, Nita Ambani is focused on expanding the global footprint of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) and its “Swadesh” initiative. This project aims to provide a global platform for traditional Indian artisans and ensure the preservation of endangered craft techniques. Throughout 2026, she is leading various international cultural exchanges, using high-profile forums like the TIME100 Summit to advocate for the “Make in India” movement and sustainable fashion that supports local weaver communities across the country.

In terms of her previous and latest projects, Nita Ambani recently oversaw the grand anniversary celebrations of the NMACC in Mumbai, which featured world-class theatrical productions and art installations. She also played a pivotal role in the hosting of the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in India, further strengthening India’s position in the global sports arena. Her ongoing commitment to the Reliance Foundation has seen the recent launch of several large-scale healthcare and educational initiatives that have impacted millions of lives over the past year.
