I'm A Celebrity... South Africa fans have predicted that presenters Ant and Dec bent the rules to ensure Adam Thomas could remain in camp. Tensions flared during Tuesday's (April 21) episode, when the campmates were split into pairs to take on Rancid Run. They learned that whichever team completed the challenge the slowest would be leaving camp. As the trial kicked off, the celebrities were covered in bugs as they attempted to win stars.

But when it came to Jimmy doing his part, he admitted he couldn't do it and shouted: "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here." Adam, 37, was furious with his co-star as he stormed over: "Are you taking the p**s? Are you taking the p**s?" Jimmy, 47, urged Adam to calm down, but he raged: "I'm in there getting covered in f****ng ants!" Ant and Dec announced that the trial was over as Jimmy had forfeited.

Their row continued afterwards, with Jimmy admitting he "wasn't feeling it". An infuriated Adam told him: "What's up with you, bro? If you wanted to go, f****ng go! Don't bring me with you."

When Jimmy explained he did it because he wanted to go home, Adam responded: "Go home in camp then! Don't do it on my f****ng watch!" When Jimmy argued that other people have quit, Adam raged: "I don't f****ng quit!"

The Waterloo Road star added: "Don't do the show then, bro! Don't do the show!" When he argued that Jimmy chose to do the show, the former footballer agreed: "Exactly right. I choose when I come and when I go."

Adam was left in tears after the trial, visibly devastated at being forced to go home. However, Ant and Dec made a huge decision that stopped Adam from going home, which many thought was brought in precisely for that purpose.

Gathering the campmates, the presenters explained that, because Jimmy had quit without even attempting the trial, it was up to them to decide whether Adam could remain in camp. The campmates unanimously decided to let Adam remain in camp. Viewers noted that Jimmy was not given an exit interview with Ant and Dec, despite the show being pre-recorded and an interview therefore being possible.

Commenting on the dramatic scenes, many speculated that Ant and Dec bent the rules because they were frustrated with Jimmy's behaviour. One wrote: "I love the fact that Ant and Dec clearly hated Jimmy's behaviour so much that they not only broke the rules of their own trial to allow Adam to stay, but denied Jimmy the same exit interview as everyone else. Brilliant karma."

Another pondered: "Jimmy didn't even get a goodbye with Ant and Dec? Were they pi**ed off with him?"

A third echoed: "Ant and Dec looked so pi**ed with Jimmy too, get him." A fourth weighed in: "Jimmy was so awful. The way he was smirking, too, when Adam got so upset. A truly dreadful man who showed his true character and deserves no exit interview and no fee for the show. Proud of Ant and Dec for standing up to him."
