Standup comedian Samay Raina courted controversy last year in 2025 when his reality show India’s Got Latent landed in legal trouble over a joke/question asked by Ranveer Allahbadia who was one of the guest panelists in that particular episode.
A year after the controversy, Samay Raina bared it all in his comedy special Still Alive. Streaming on YouTube, the comedy special featured him talking about all the hardships he faced in the last one year post the controversy and also being a Kashmiri pandit facing the 1990 exodus.
As expected, the standup special garnered immense buzz online, and the clips of the same went viral on social media.

It so happened that as per News18, Samay Raina took to Instagram stories and shared a screenshot of his chat with AI chatbot Grok where he asked, “Which is the most watched YouTube comedy special of all time globally?”
The response from the chatbot read, “Samay Raina – Still Alive is the most watched YouTube comedy special of all time globally (full-length stand-up special by total views on its primary upload).”
The comedy special was uploaded on YouTube on Samay Raina’s channel on April 7 and as of April 22 it has garnered 54 million views, over 3.8 million likes and over 2 lakh comments.
Still Alive is a one-hour and 21 minutes of Samay Raina making people laugh and at the same time leaving a lump in their throats with his backstory and who he really is behind the on-screen image of a guy who can joke on any and everything.
