Medical negligence in Haryana: Doctor removes man’s healthy gall bladder during urinary tract stone treatment

New Delhi: In a case of shocking medical negligence reported from Nuh region of Haryana, a doctor removed a healthy gall bladder of a patient during the treatment of urinary tract stones. The incient reportedly took place at Al Salam Hospital located in Gandhi COlony in Tauru in Nuh.

Following the incident, a complaint was filed by the 24-year-old patient’s father prompting police to file an FIR against the surgeon as well as the operator of the hospital for alleged medical negligence and criminal conspiracy. The incident dates back to 2025, according to a report in Indian Express.

The complainant is a resident of Chilawali village. The victim identified as Nadeem works as a painter. Police said the alleged botched surgery took place in September last year when the patient was admitted to the hospital stone related issues in urinary tract.

What patient’s family claims

Nadeem’s family claims the doctor and the hospital operator took the patient to operation theatre and brought him within 25 minutes. When the surgeon and the operator were confronted by the family, they attempted to evade the questions.

The family claimed they recorded a video of the internal medical files after suspecting foul play. Later, an ultrasound was performed on Nadeem which conformed the removal of his gall bladder. The complaint also alleged that the patient is bedridden for around seven months after his surgery.

‘Hospital tampered with evidence’

After the incident, a medical board was set up in Nuh’s Mandikhera to probe the incident. Citing sources in the medical board, the report suggested that that the patient’s gall bladder was doing perfectly fine. The medical board concluded in its report on Feb 5, 2026.

The inquiry report, claimed sources, alleged that the hospital administration tampered with the medical evidence in an attempt to show that the patient’s family consented to the removal of gall bladder.
