The Iran-US ceasefire expires on Wednesday. There is uncertainty about the second round of peace talks in Pakistan. What is the future of the two countries with this war situation? Ceasefire will be extended? David H. Petraeus, the former head of the US Army’s Central Command, opened his mouth.
In an interview given to news agency PTI, Petraeus claimed that the ceasefire between the two countries could be extended. He said, “America is interested in negotiating. But before that, Iran has to accept two conditions. First, Tehran has to loosen its control over Hormuz. Second, the enriched uranium in that country has to be handed over to America.” He also said, “If Iran does not agree to accept the terms, then the US can use some force in Hormuz. On the other hand, Iran will not give up. They will also respond. As a result, the situation is likely to heat up again in the coming days.” Incidentally, among the 10-point conditions that the US gave to Iran, there was the relaxation of control in Hormuz and the cessation of uranium enrichment. But Iran did not agree.
Meanwhile, according to sources, US Vice President JD Vance will leave for Islamabad for the second round of talks on Tuesday. US President Donald Trump himself can attend this meeting. However, it is not yet clear whether he will attend the discussion physically or virtually. But uncertainty remains over Iran’s participation in the second round of talks. Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai said on Monday that no final decision has been made on whether Tehran will join the next round of talks.
