When the police checked the CCTV around the incident site, they saw that a person was seen entering the house with an umbrella before the incident.
He is seen leaving the house after about an hour. Relatives have also recognized him. The police is busy searching for him. Police say that prima facie the case is murder, but the entire situation will become clear from the post mortem report. Presently his posting is in Firozpur, Punjab. Apart from her two sons, 14-year-old Vishya and 12-year-old Harsh, Geeta lives with her nephew Sachin's six-year-old son Yashvardhan. All three children went to school on Tuesday. At around 11:16 in the morning, Geeta had called her niece Sheetal asking her to come home in some time as she had some work.
After some time, when Sheetal reached aunt's house, the door was locked from inside. It was locked from inside. Even after shouting a lot, the door did not open. The sound of cooler running was heard from inside. On this Sheetal felt that aunt might have fallen asleep. Meanwhile, when a call came from Yashvardhan's school, Sheetal went to take it.
When she returned from school around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, the lock of the door was open, but the bar from inside was stuck from below. Feeling suspicious about the situation, Sheetal called her brother Sachin. When Sachin opened the door from below, Geeta was lying on the ground inside.
He was immediately picked up and taken to Daya Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. After this the matter was informed to the police. When the police inspected the spot, they found a light mark of being pressed on the woman's neck, and broken bangles were also lying in the house.
It is feared that before her death, there was a scuffle between Geeta and the killer, due to which her bangles were broken. Police have sent the body for post-mortem. The real cause of death will be revealed in the post mortem report.
A young man was seen entering the house around 11:20
When the police checked the CCTV cameras installed near Geeta's house, a person was seen entering the house around 11:20 pm. He has covered his entire mouth with a white handkerchief and has also used a black umbrella to hide his face.
After coming, he first rang the doorbell and when the door opened, he went inside. The way he is seen going inside the house in the CCTV footage, it appears that the woman already knew him. Because there was no resistance while entering the house.
About an hour later, around 12:30, the same person is seen leaving the house. While coming, he hangs the bag in front and while going, he hangs the bag behind. Meanwhile, when Sheetal reached home, the door was locked from inside.
Prima facie it appears to be murder, as a suspicious person had entered the house with an umbrella before the nephew of the deceased woman arrived and came out after an hour. There is also a light mark on the woman's neck. Further action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report.
