Russia is a natural friend of India. Whenever India faced any kind of crisis, Russia played the role of troubleshooter. Pakistan has tried its best to win Russia over to its side, but an important agreement between India and Russia has not only troubled Pakistan, but countries like China and America are also in shock. America never wants the friendship between Russia and India to continue. US President Donald Trump made one move after another to end this friendship, but he did not succeed. India’s friendship with Russia became deeper.

Under the important agreement between India and Russia, now both the countries will be able to deploy 10 fighter aircraft and five warships in addition to three thousand soldiers in each other’s country. The rulers of Pakistan are worried about this historic agreement between the two decades old strategic partners. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is currently busy drawing the blueprint of Islamic NATO on the lines of Quad and NATO. His plan has been supported by Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. This has increased India’s concern.

Everyone knows from the history of Pakistan’s duplicity that even if Islamic NATO is formed, it will not last long, because Pakistan is a selfish country and if it feels that this alliance is causing economic loss to it, then it will immediately come out. An agreement similar to NATO was signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia last year. Under this, an attack on any of these countries will be considered an attack on both the countries, but the Pakistani army remained silent during the bombing of Saudi Arabia by Iran. He did not give any reply to Iran on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

With this agreement for mutual exchange of logistics support between India and Russia, the whole world has now come to know that this friendship is unbreakable. Neither Trump will be able to break it with the weapon of tariff nor China will be able to end it by putting pressure on Russia. Pakistani experts have now even started saying that Russia is being foolish by betting on India, although Pakistani experts seem to be convinced of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomacy. He says that India very beautifully wants American investment, Russian weapons and Chinese products together and is also succeeding in it.

Russia has a traditional friendship with China. China has also helped Russia on many occasions. In such a situation, now Pakistan is feeling that the bitter days of China and India may not be far away. If the friendship between China and India deepens through Russia, then Pakistan will suffer more. The Chinese President is also expected to attend the meeting of BRICS countries to be held in India this year. There was bitterness between the two countries after the clash in Galvan Valley, but now it is gradually ending. Russia is also helping both the countries to a great extent in this.

China did not want this agreement between Russia and India, but it has not given any reaction on this agreement, because it is busy in restoring the deteriorated relations with India. With this agreement, India will now be able to easily use the big ports located in Murmansk and Severomorsk of Russia. This agreement will also be very helpful for both the countries from a strategic point of view. Russia will get logistics support from the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean. This will make it easier for Russia to get fuel, repairs, spare parts and other assistance. This agreement will also help both the countries save money and time in long distance missions.

The ‘Indo-Russian Reciprocal Exchange of Logistics Agreement’ was signed in February 2025, which is now fully implemented. Under this, the armies of both the countries will jointly participate in joint military exercises, training programs and humanitarian aid operations. This is not limited to military deployment only, but provision for logistics support is also made in it. Both countries will provide port services, repair facilities, water, food and other technical resources to the warships, as well as facilities like air traffic control, flight information, use of navigation system, parking and security for military aircraft.

India supplies maximum arms from Russia. If we talk about history, Russia has stood with India on every occasion. When there was a war between India and Pakistan in 1971, countries like Britain and America stood against India. At that time, it was the Soviet Union (Russia) which not only proudly announced its support to India, but also clearly told countries like America and Britain that if anyone tried to help Pakistan militarily, it would fight shoulder to shoulder with India.

Even in the United Nations, Russia had provided diplomatic protection to India by vetoing it. It was due to Russia’s activism that China was not able to help Pakistan, whereas Pakistan expected that Britain, America and China would attack India in its favor. Some foreign affairs experts say that many more strategic agreements will soon be signed between India and Russia, which will further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
