After a long pause, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is back with something he knows well, horror.
His new film Haunted 3D is set to release in cinemas on June 12, 2026. But this comeback is not just about a film. It comes after a difficult personal phase that slowed everything down.
The 57-year-old, who once changed how horror looked in India with his earlier 3D work, now returns to the same space.
This time, the aim seems simple, make it sharper, louder, and more intense. The makers say the film uses newer technology to make fear feel closer, almost inside the theatre.
Producer Anand Pandit spoke about standing by Bhatt during a tough time.
“Our association with Vikram Bhatt goes back to 1920, and our relationship with him is beyond just work. Haunted has turned out really well, and I was sure that we would release the film only after Vikram was free from custody.
Irrespective of how long it takes. Now that he is here, giving the final touches to the film, we are ready to release the film on June 12 this year,” he added.
The director of Raaz himself did not hide the struggle behind the film.
“Both Haunted 3D and I have had a bumpy ride till now. Through the tough days of losing my mother and being incarcerated on a whim, Anand Pandit… stood by me… Get ready to be scared!” he described while speaking about the film.
With actors like Mimoh Chakraborty and Chetna Pande, the film is now heading for release.
