Health Desk. The temperature has started rising rapidly in many parts of the country and the heat has started showing its effects. During this period, the risk of heatstroke also increases, which can prove serious for health. According to doctors, heat stroke can cause problems like dehydration, dizziness and weakness in the body. In such a situation, caution is the biggest protection.
1. Keep drinking enough water
It is most important to keep the body hydrated in summer. Keep drinking water at regular intervals throughout the day, so that there is no shortage of water in the body.
2. Avoid exposure to sunlight
The sun is strongest between 12 noon and 3 pm. One should avoid going out at this time.
3. Wear light and loose clothes
Cotton and light colored clothes help keep the body cool and absorb sweat.
4. Keep your head covered
While going out, make sure to use a hat, umbrella or towel to protect yourself from direct sunlight.
5. Drink cold beverages
Drinks like coconut water, lemon water and ORS give energy to the body and prevent dehydration.
6. Eat light and fresh food
Avoid fried and heavy food in summer. Consume more fresh fruits and salads.
7. Don’t ignore body signals
If you feel dizzy, headache or weakness, immediately go to the shade and rest. Contact a doctor if necessary.
