New Delhi: Abhishek Sharma single-handedly demolished the Delhi Capitals (DC) bowling attack with a stunning knock of an unbeaten 135 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Sunday. Abhishek’s blazing ton powered Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a mammoth 242/2 in 20 overs and helped him break the legendary Chris Gayle’s elite record in T20 cricket.
It was carnage at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad as Abhishek slammed 135 off just 68 balls, taking the DC bowlers to the cleaners. His stupendous knock was laced with ten sixes and as many fours. The swashbuckling left-hander looked in destructive touch from the onset and took the attack to the DC bowlers in the Powerplay.
He helped SRH capitalise on the Powerplay with 67 runs and completed his half-century off 25 balls. Abhishek upped the ante after his fifty to race to his 2nd IPL ton off just 47 balls and finished with an unbeaten 135, the second-highest individual score by an SRH batter in the IPL. Abhishek also holds the record for the highest individual score for SRH with his 141-run knock against the Punjab Kings last season.
Incredible knock, iconic celebration 🙌
An Abhishek Sharma special lights up Hyderabad 💯

Abhishek Sharma breaks Chris Gayle’s record
Abhishek broke Gayle’s elite record of most 130+ scores in T20 cricket with his unbeaten 135 against the Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. It was Abhishek’s 4th 130-plus score in the shortest format as he surpassed Gayle and former Australia captain Aaron Finch, who notched up 130-plus scores four times in their T20 careers.
Most 130+ scores in T20 cricket:
4 – Abhishek Sharma *
3 – Chris Gayle
3 – Aaron Finch
Abhishek also became only the second batter after Gayle to hit 10 or more sixes in an IPL innings multiple times. His 10 sixes during his 135-run knock against DC were the second instance of the left-hander smashing ten or more maximums in an innings in the IPL. Gayle, who did it four times, is the only other batter to have done it multiple times in the IPL.
