Netflix has shown no hesitation in axing major shows in 2026, so which ones failed to survive the cull?

Through the years, viewers have been bewildered by some of Netflix's surprising cancellations, from thriller The Society to sci-fi drama Shadow and Bone.

Now a fresh batch of programmes have met their demise in 2026, so here's a summary of what will not be making a comeback to the streaming platform.

Following in the wake of beloved reality programme Selling Sunset, Selling the City transports audiences into the ruthless and glamorous realm of property sales in New York City.

The programme was fronted by Eleonora Srugo and despite its connection to Selling Sunset, will not be making a return for a second series following its launch last year.

Reports have also emerged that production has been suspended on Selling The OC, which features luxury property magnates Jason and Brett Oppenheim.

The twin founders of The Oppenheim Group command the premium Los Angeles real estate landscape, with an estimated net worth of approximately $50-$60 million each, focusing on celebrity clientele and exclusive properties.

Netflix's high-budget Western series featuring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey premiered at the close of 2025.

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter allegedly departed the programme before production wrapped and took to Instagram to express his disappointment following the cancellation announcement.

Creator Kurt Sutter departed the show before production had wrapped, and he made no attempt to soften his words when announcing the cancellation on Instagram.

He reportedly posted, according to Deadline: "Dear Netflix, Next time fear compels you to choose the algorithm over a creator's vision, remember how that choice unraveled a potentially beautiful project."

He subsequently withdrew his remarks, stating that his "passion sincerely apologises".

Japanese dystopian thriller Alice in Borderland ran for three seasons, but despite its latest series concluding on an ambiguous note, Netflix confirmed there would be no further episodes.

Actress Tao Tsuchiya previously told The Hollywood Reporter in 2025 that she had expected the drama to conclude after its second season.

She shared: "I felt like that was a great way to finish the story. So I was kind of surprised when they presented season three to me!"

Comedy series Miss Governor was released in two parts last year, but it was last month that the show was axed after just a single season.

Taking to Instagram, actress Terri J Vaughn posted: "I have to admit, I was quite heartbroken when I first got the info. I really worked my ass off to make that show come to fruition.

"My heart and the intention behind the show was just, and I still feel it was just so beautiful and purposeful [and] impactful...to be able to tell those stories through that character."

Crafted by Money Heists' masterminds, Spanish drama Billionaires' Bunker was widely anticipated to be a major success.

Yet Netflix opted against commissioning a second series of the psychological thriller, confirming the decision to El Pais in December 2025, despite the first series concluding with an open-ended finale.
