Director Vinod Anantoju steps in front of the camera for Anand Deverakonda's dark thriller 'Takshakudu'

Filmmaker Vinod Anantoju is trying something new in his next film, ‘ Takshakudu ’ starring Anand Deverakonda . He is not just directing the film, he is also acting in it. On Tuesday, he shared a poster of his small role.

Director talks about a new experience in front of the cameraIn the poster shared by the director, he is seen holding an oil lamp. He said, “Did a small role in Takshakudu. Acting in front of camera is so different from standing behind it and telling actors how to act."Vinod also shared how this small role changed his thinking. He said that after acting, his respect for actors increased ten folds. He felt that acting is not easy. Being in front of the camera is very different from giving instructions behind it. This experience made him understand actors better.

Anand Deverakonda about his roleActor Anand Devarakonda is also doing something different in this film. He plays a character named Suri. Talking about the story as per a report by Cinema Express, he said, “Vinod has reimagined ancient folklore for our times. The story isn’t about heroes or villains, it’s about greed, how it consumes people, and how every action has consequences. Playing Suri allowed me to explore those moral boundaries.”


About ‘Takshakudu’‘Takshakudu’ is a dark thriller , speaking about the film, Vinod shared, “This story comes from the kind of tales I grew up hearing, folklore whispered in villages, stories that stayed with me long after the fire died out. It’s not just a thriller. It’s a world where myths breathe, where silence can scare, and where every sound makes your heart race.” The film is based on old village stories and has a scary and deep mood.

Vinod Anantoju and Anand Deverakonda are reuniting for the second time in this movie after ‘Middle Class Melodies.’

The film will be released on Netflix.
