Lifestyle Desk: These days very good raw mangoes are available in the market. Mango pickle has also been made in many homes. Apart from this, raw mango panna and chutney are also made in abundance in all our homes. But have you ever eaten tangy raw mango raita? This is really a great combination of taste and health. Its light sour, cool and very refreshing taste is liked by everyone. So let’s see its easy recipe.

Material

Raw mango – 1 medium (peeled and grated)
Curd – 1 cup (whipped)
Green chilli – 1 finely chopped
Roasted cumin powder – ½ tsp
Black salt – as per taste
Plain salt – as per taste
Sugar – ½ tsp (optional, to balance the sourness)
Green coriander – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
Mint leaves – 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)

Method

  1. Peel the raw mango and grate it. If the mango is too sour, you can squeeze it slightly. Beat the curd in a bowl until it becomes smooth.
  2. Add grated mango to the whipped curd and mix well. Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, plain salt and (if desired) a little sugar to it.
  3. Add green chilli, green coriander and mint and mix well. Keep it in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes so that the taste increases further.
  4. Serve this raita cold with dal-rice, khichdi, pulao or parathas – the pleasure of eating will be doubled.
