Punjab Police has reported extensive seizures during the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, initiated under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The latest data highlights the scale of enforcement operations targeting narcotics and associated illegal networks across the state. According to official figures, police recovered 378.45 kg of heroin, 301.947 kg of opium, and 2,838.77 kg of poppy husk. In addition, authorities seized 101.459 kg of ganja, 7,373.82 grams of intoxicant powder, and 790 grams of “Ice,” along with 12,37,318 intoxicant tablets. These recoveries span multiple categories of drugs, indicating action across both traditional and synthetic narcotics markets.
Financial assets linked to illegal activities were also confiscated during the operations. Police reported the seizure of ₹1,05,31,171 identified as drug money, along with an additional ₹50,66,740 in cash. Authorities also recovered 273 grams of gold, which is suspected to be connected to proceeds from illicit trade. The campaign has also targeted illegal liquor distribution, with 24,520.25 litres of illicit alcohol seized. This includes 10,984.75 bottles and 176 boxes, pointing to parallel enforcement against unregulated alcohol networks operating in the region.
In a move to disrupt logistical and communication networks, police recovered 4,229 mobile phones, 815 vehicles, and 31 drones. Officials indicated that such equipment is often used for coordination, transport, and surveillance in organized trafficking operations. The data reflects a combination of field-level enforcement and intelligence-based action carried out across districts. Authorities have emphasized that the campaign focuses not only on seizures but also on dismantling the infrastructure that supports drug distribution networks. Punjab has been dealing with concerns related to drug trafficking and substance abuse for several years, and such enforcement drives are part of ongoing measures to address the issue. The current figures provide an overview of the scale and scope of action taken during this phase of the campaign.
