During his visit to India, President Lee Jae Myung met South Koreans living here. Sharing photos of the meeting on social media platform X, he wrote, “I welcomed my foreign countrymen who are raising the name of the Republic of Korea abroad.
President Lee said, “Amidst the ongoing supply chain instability following the Middle East conflict and the global economic crisis, the Republic of Korea and India have become even more important strategic partners for each other. I look forward to the deepening and broadening of our relations at this summit.”
He said that at such a time, the role of our foreign compatriots, who act as bridges between the two countries, is very important. Based on the trust and experience you have built locally, I urge you to continue to serve as a strong driving force in furthering relations between our two countries.
The South Korean President said that your warm welcome has given me a lot of courage. The Government will pay even greater attention to ensuring that our people, who are playing a vital role in the Republic of Korea’s great leap forward, can live safely and with dignity as our citizens, no matter where you are. Once again, I thank you very much.
