Why is PNB Housing Finance stock rising? Know the reasons powering the HFC

Kolkata: PNB Housing Finance has come up with a 19% surge in its December quarter (Q4FY26) net profit of Rs 656 crore contrasted against Rs 500 crore in the similar quarter a year earlier. The net profit of the company for the entire FY26 years stood at Rs 2,291 crore against Rs 1,936 crore in the Q4 period a year earlier, which marked a 18% growth. The board of the company proposed a final dividend Rs 8 per share which has a face value of Rs 10 a piece for FY26. In the Jan-March period, retail loan disbursements jumped to a quarterly record. The results were declared after market hours on Monday. PNB Housing Finance is an arm of the second biggest public bank in India — Punjab National Bank or PNB.

The PNB Shousing Finance share surged to Rs 966.25 as soon as trading began today. The shares were quoting at Rs 969, up Rs 62.25 or PNB Housing Finance shares closed at Rs 906.60, down Rs 17.10 or 1.85% on Monday, April 21, 2026. The 52-week high and 52-week low of the stock are Rs 1,141.90 and Rs 729.60 respectively.

NIM dips, asset quality improves

IN the Q4FY26 results declared on Monday, it was seen that the net interest margin for the quarter dipped from 3.75% in Q4FY25 period to 3.69% in Q$FY26 period. However, there was an improvement in asset quality. The gross NPA (non-performing assets) went up from 1,08% in Q4FY25 to 0.93% in the December 2026 quarter. The AUM size improved by 13% on Y-o-Y basis to reach Rs 90,921 crore. Its retail loan assets went up by 16% to reach Rs 86,946 crore.

Affordable housing market exposure surges

The affordable and emerging market of housing segment rose 28% on Y-o-Y basis. They constituted 40% of the retail loan assets of the NBFC. The retail loan disbursements jumped to a quarterly record of Rs 9,020 crore in Q4FY26 period. The company also resumed lending to the corporate segment.
