Jisoo's Agency Responds to Controversy
Jisoo, a prominent figure in the K-Pop scene, is currently facing a significant controversy unrelated to her music career. On April 20, her agency, BLISSOO, issued a formal statement via a reputable legal firm, distancing her from allegations involving a man believed to be her elder brother, Kim Jung-Hoon. This announcement followed a period of intense online speculation and mounting pressure for Jisoo to clarify her stance. The agency emphasized that the situation has no ties to Jisoo or her management.
Clarification on Jisoo's Relationship with the Accused Jisoo Denies Involvement In Accused's Life
In the statement released through Kim & Chang, BLISSOO clarified that Jisoo has been living independently for several years since her training days and has no knowledge or involvement in the accused's personal matters. The agency categorically denied any claims that family members have received compensation or played a role in the company's decisions. Furthermore, it was stated that neither Jisoo nor BLISSOO has provided any financial or legal assistance to the accused, nor do they intend to do so. The agency firmly rejected rumors suggesting that he co-founded the company or holds any executive role within it.
BLISSOO also warned that they would pursue strict legal action, both civil and criminal, against anyone disseminating false information, defaming the artist, or misusing her name and likeness. They made it clear that there would be no leniency or settlements for those who continue to spread harmful content.
Details of the Allegations All About The Controversy
The controversy began on April 12, 2026, when a female streamer organized a lottery with an entry fee of approximately 10,000 won, offering prizes that included a dinner date. Kim Jung-Hoon allegedly purchased 500 tickets, won the date, and subsequently met the streamer. On April 15, the streamer filed a police report accusing him of violating South Korea's laws regarding sexual crimes. He was arrested on April 16 on suspicion of coercing lewd acts, and an arrest warrant was sought.
However, on April 17, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office rejected the arrest warrant due to a lack of evidence. The situation escalated on April 18 when a woman claiming to be Kim Jung-Hoon's wife posted a three-page statement online, along with images of her injuries, accusing him of ongoing physical abuse, sexual assault, and blackmail. Earlier indications of trouble had emerged in May 2025, when an anonymous post on the platform Blind accused Kim Jung-Hoon of recording an intimate video without consent and sharing it with friends. This post was later removed, and the issue was reportedly resolved out of court.
