UP School Timings: The intensity of the sun has increased across North India. Uttar Pradesh, too, is experiencing severe heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding the scorching heat. Due to the hot weather and heatwave conditions, school timings have been revised in at least two districts of the state. The first update comes from Prayagraj. Here, an order has been issued mandating that all schools for classes 1 through 8 will operate from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM, effective April 20. This order applies to schools affiliated with all educational boards. The directive was issued by Manish Kumar Verma, the District Magistrate of Prayagraj.
The second update comes from the Sonbhadra district. Here, too, an order has been issued for schools to operate between 7:30 AM and 12:00 PM. This order was issued by District Magistrate B.N. Singh.
**Timings Changed in Mathura as Well**
In view of the rising heat and the threat of heatwaves, school timings for classes 1 through 8 have also been revised in the Mathura district. Here, the school schedule has been adjusted to run from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Previously, schools operated from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
**School Timings Changed in Satna, MP**
In the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, school timings have been altered in light of the severe heat. Under the new schedule, all schools will now operate from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM; however, teachers are required to remain on duty until 1:30 PM to ensure that students are protected from the harsh sunlight and heat.
**Schools Closed in Odisha**
In view of the severe heat, schools and colleges in the Balangir, Subarnapur, and Kalahandi districts of Odisha have been closed from April 18 to April 21. Previously, the state government had directed schools in several districts to conduct classes between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM; however, this stricter measure was implemented in Kalahandi specifically due to the issuance of a 'Red Alert' for the region.
