This sequel to the 2025 blockbuster premiered in theaters on March 19, 2026, and has quickly dominated the box office, surpassing major films like Pushpa 2 and Jawan to set new records for opening weekends in Hindi cinema. It has been confirmed that Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be available for streaming exclusively on JioHotstar following its theatrical release. This is a shift from the first installment, which debuted on Netflix and garnered significant viewership. The streaming rights for the sequel have been acquired for an impressive Rs 150 crore, marking one of the largest digital deals in recent memory. For comparison, the original film was sold to Netflix for Rs 85 crore, highlighting the franchise's remarkable growth fueled by its theatrical success.

While an official OTT release date has yet to be announced, it is anticipated that the film will be available on JioHotstar by the end of May. Typically, major theatrical releases transition to streaming platforms after a window of 45 to 60 days. Additionally, the film is expected to air on television via Star Gold after its streaming debut.

The substantial investment by OTT platforms for streaming rights is justified by the film's impressive box office performance. Dhurandhar: The Revenge has shattered records during its opening weekend, becoming the first film in Indian cinema to achieve back-to-back single-day net collections exceeding Rs 100 crore on both Day 3 and Day 4. The film's net collection in India reached Rs 466 crore over four days, with a worldwide gross of Rs 761 crore, all without any revenue from the GCC region. Industry analysts suggest that Dhurandhar 2 could potentially surpass the Rs 1,000 crore mark in its opening week, a milestone that even Pushpa 2: The Rule did not achieve, marking a historic moment for Hindi cinema.
