Bollywood actor and film producer Aamir Khan is reportedly working on a biopic based on the life of entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, the founder of Bharatpe. According to reports, the upcoming biopic will star Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead opposite Khan. Here's everything we know so far:

After Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan reportedly has been working on multiple biopics, including films on music tycoon Gulshan Kumar and renowned Indian director Dadasaheb Phalke. But its seems that he has another subject of interest for a possible biopic and this time it’s someone from the fintech industry.

Recent reports emerged that Aamir Khan is doing a biopic on entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, who shot to fame on social media after becoming a judge on Shark Tank India. Along with that, reports of the film’s female lead also started surfacing. A recent report suggested that Shraddha Kapoor will be starring opposite Aamir Khan as the lead.

Mid-Day quoted a source that said Shraddha Kapoor will be playing the lead in Ashneer Grover’s biopic. The casting was finalised quite early. The source said, “It was decided early on that Shraddha would play the female lead. She has seen the screenplay develop up close.”

According to reports, the upcoming biopic on Ashneer Grover will be written and helmed by Rahul Mody, Shraddha Kapoor’s rumoured beau. Mody has previously worked on films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

Even though no official announcement about the film and casting have been made, a media report said that Aamir has agreed to do the biopic. It seems that the life story of Bharatpe’s founder struck a chord with Aamir. The film is also said to be in pre-production stage.

Bollywood Hungama quoted a source, “Aamir has read it and loved it; he is doing this film. It's in the pre-production stage. It's also very relatable as Ashneer is an extremely popular figure with today's audience.”

Previously, Ashneer also spoke about who he would like to see in his biopic. He shared that the Khans or Akshay Kumar would be able to justify his role.

Ashneer Grover is the co-founder and former managing director of the fintech company BharatPe, a digital payments platform. He rose to fame after his sharp remarks and blunt judgements made him one of the toughest judges to impress on Shark Tank India. His straightforward comebacks have turned him from a fintech founder to a pop culture figure in India.

Aamir is also reportedly working on a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke with Rajkumar Hirani. The filming for the same is currently in progress.

As per reports, Shraddha Kapoor will next be seen in Eetha, a bipgraphical drama based on the life of Maharashtra’s celebrated Tamasha performer, Vithabai Narayangaonkar. After finishing Eetha, she will start shooting for Naagin.
