Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted an on-ground inspection of Azadpur Mandi, Gupta Market, and adjoining localities in Delhi to assess ongoing infrastructure and civic development work. The visit included a review of projects being implemented by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Public Works Department (PWD), with officials briefing her on current progress and timelines.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister expressed concern over delays and gaps in coordination in certain areas and directed officials to address issues affecting public movement and daily convenience. She emphasized that construction and development activities should be managed in a way that minimizes disruption for residents, traders, and commuters who frequently use these high-traffic zones.
Officials were instructed to ensure that all ongoing projects adhere strictly to scheduled timelines and maintain quality standards. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of transparency in execution, asking departments to maintain clear records and improve coordination among agencies involved in urban development work.
In addition to reviewing infrastructure projects, Rekha Gupta inspected surrounding areas of Azadpur Mandi and Gupta Market, where she assessed cleanliness levels and waste management systems. She directed the concerned departments to strengthen sanitation measures, improve garbage clearance mechanisms, and ensure better upkeep of public spaces, particularly in commercial and densely populated zones.
The inspection also included discussions on improving traffic flow and pedestrian safety in and around construction sites. Officials were asked to take necessary steps to manage congestion and ensure smoother access for both vendors and visitors.
The visit reflects ongoing administrative focus on upgrading urban infrastructure in parts of Delhi that have been undergoing redevelopment. Authorities have been instructed to maintain a consistent pace of work and ensure that civic amenities are restored promptly after project completion.
