The first weekend of the 2026 World Snooker Championship has been completed and five players are through to the second round already. Crucible seeds have had it all their way so far, with defending champion Zhao Xintong joined by Mark Allen, Barry Hawkins, Mark Williams and Xiao Guodong.
Looking to join them in the next phase of the competition today are former winners John Higgins and Kyren Wilson. Four-time champion Higgins entered the day down 5-4 to Ali Carter, while Wilson will play starlet Stan Moody over two sessions to discover his fate.
