After Punjab Kings (PBKS) triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Shreyas Iyer commended the impressive partnership between emerging talents Priyansh Arya and Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly. He emphasized the significance of allowing young players to freely express their skills. PBKS maintained their unbeaten streak in the tournament, marking a historic achievement as the first team to remain undefeated in the initial six matches of an IPL season. The duo's partnership yielded a staggering 182 runs, showcasing a thrilling display of power-hitting.

During the post-match presentation, Iyer remarked on the partnership, stating, "The partnership was exceptional, with some truly jaw-dropping shots. Their ability to hit fast bowlers off the back foot was remarkable, and their composure during the middle overs was outstanding."

Iyer also mentioned a friendly competition in six-hitting between the youngsters and himself, with his bat as the prize. He noted, "When players are allowed to be themselves, they tend to perform better. That’s our philosophy. I don’t dictate how they should play; they have their own styles. Ricky Ponting, our head coach, provides motivation just before the game, and I contribute as needed, allowing the boys to shine."

Regarding the bowling performance, Iyer stated, "Most of our bowlers are seasoned international players with significant experience. We have strategies in place for specific batters, and execution is key. They must avoid complacency."

Currently, PBKS sits atop the points table, remaining unbeaten with five victories and one no result, accumulating 11 points. In contrast, LSG finds itself in eighth place, with two wins and four losses.

PBKS posted an impressive total of 254/7, bolstered by Priyansh's explosive 93 runs off 37 balls, featuring four boundaries and nine sixes, alongside Connolly's 87 runs from 46 balls, which included eight fours and seven sixes. LSG had their moments, highlighted by a 61-run opening partnership between Ayush Badoni (35 runs off 21 balls, with five fours and a six) and Mitchell Marsh (40 runs off 28 balls, with three fours and two sixes), as well as a counter-attack from Rishabh Pant (43 runs off 23 balls, with one four and four sixes), but ultimately fell short.
