Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin released the party's Chennai manifesto on Sunday at the Anna Arivalayam headquarters.

Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu are scheduled to be held on April 23, 2026. The 'Chennai Super-6' initiatives are launched with the aim of transforming the capital into a world-class city.

DMK Chennai manifesto includes:

• Enhanced Community Spaces:

CM Stalin has promised to upgrade common facilities in the Urban Habitat Development Board Apartments through
women-led associations with government funding. The government, if elected to power, will develop RO facilities for areas without Metro water and a time-bound supply for Metro households, along with high-intensity street lighting across all neighbourhoods.

The DMK fold has also vowed to develop a world-class Cultural Landmark for Chennai with a dedicated venue for global arts, music, and literature events.

• Smarter Mobility Across Chennai:

Under the second initiative, DMK will launch 1,000 new mini buses connecting every street to bus stops, Metro, and railway stations, along with an Al-powered traffic management to reduce congestion and cut travel time by 25%.

• Infrastructure Projects Delivered on Time:

As per the Chennai manifesto, the Stalin government stated that 10 major projects across the city to be completed by 2027. Apart from this, other development projects, including stormwater drains and sewerage works will be finished by 2027, and Metro expansion to be completed by 2028.

The party has vowed to launch complete streets by 2029 with wide pedestrian pavements, a shady tree canopy and accessible toilet facilities.

• Humane and Scientific Dog Population Management:

The DMK fold has promised a threefold increase in veterinarians and dog catchers under the ABC programme, alongside expanded shelters in partnership with NGOS.

• Global Centre of Excellence:

The government has expressed an interest to focus on Al, animation, visual effects, gaming, and immersive technologies and claimed to build an immersive tech hub by 2030 with an investment of Rs. 10,000 crore. The project, as per DMK's Chennai manifesto, would create 20,000 high-value jobs.

• Global Talent Gateway:

The party has also vowed to build world-class infrastructure facilities, high-quality skill development training, research hubs and high-income employment opportunities.

Earlier on Saturday, M K Stalin warned that Tamil Nadu's progress will be affected if people vote for the NDA alliance in the upcoming Assembly elections.

"The AIADMK and BJP have crippled this region's industrial growth. Votes cast for NDA will become a stumbling block to Tamil Nadu's progress and people must realise this," he said in a poll rally in Tiruppur.
