Karl-Anthony Towns' fiancée Jordyn Woods has opened up about her relationship with him, revealing the deeply personal reasons she accepted the proposal from the New York Knicks star ahead of the team’s playoff game.
Woods, 28, got engaged to Towns, 30, on Christmas Day 2025 after dating for five years. Following the announcement, she reflected on their journey in a video for the ‘A Diamond is Forever’ advertisement, sharing her thoughts on love and commitment.
“Love was never meant to be loud. It was meant to be certain. Not rushed, not performative. Just inevitable,” Woods said in the video and shared how they fell in love.
The model explained that their relationship strengthened while both were grieving the loss of close family members. Woods lost her father to cancer in 2017, when she was 19. Towns lost his mother in 2020 due to complications from COVID-19 at the age of 24.
During a September 2020 interview with Extra about her BET film Trigger, Woods said the pair connected over similar experiences.
Recalling how the Knicks star lost his mother in April that year, Jordyn said, as People quoted, they "connected about losing a parent at a very young age.″
“Karl had a way of arriving quietly in my life, but leaving his impact forever. Some connections aren't made in the light, but in the quiet understanding of loss.
