Dame Joanna Lumley has fans divided when she partnered with Lancome in a new Feel Lifted campaign. The Motherland star, 79, has become the new face for the Lancome Rénergie Collagen+ Lift-Xtend Cream, which claims to rebuild up to 10 years of collagen loss.
In the short reels on Instagram and Facebook, Joanna was seen putting the cream while saying, "Oh lift, lift, lift. That's divine". She then dressed up and got in a cab, telling the driver: "I'm doing this Lancome campaign when we get there." The camera followed her into a recording studio and she read out the lines: " Lancome Rénergie Collagen+ Lift-Xtend Cream. Highly tightening and firming. Rebuild up to 10 years of collagen loss."
While the £85 cream might be doing miracles for Joanna, dedicated fans were quick to point out that the actress is a big fan of affordable skincare. In fact, Joanna mentioned it in an interview with The Times and said: "I've been using Astral for 40 years as a moisturiser, cleanser and hand cream. It comes in a little blue pot, cheap as chips - adore!
"It has never been tested on animals, and is about the only thing I've never developed an allergy to." Compared to the Lancome moisturiser, the Astral cream is available at Amazon for £4.65.
One fan shared her thought on the advertisement: "Oh what a treat! Joanna Lumley is just perfect for showing us this fab Lancôme collagen."
A second said: "Oh my God, Joanna and Renergie. Perfect synergy for that lift."
Dame Joanna previously addressed her beauty secrets and how she maintains a youthful appearance.
Speaking to Stylist magazine about her skincare routine, Joanna commented: "It's fairly basic.
Again, I use the things that I know and trust, which I have to say: Lancôme is a brand that I've been using for more years than I can count, because I can trust it. I love it, I love the feel of it, I love what it does. The new Rénergie Collagen+ Lift-Xtend Cream is extraordinary."
