A rare instance of frustration involving India and Mumbai Indians ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah went viral from the Indian Premier League 2026 encounter between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

In the video, the fast bowler can be heard shouting and expressing his frustration upon completion of his final over, and also can be seen picking up his run-up marker and throwing it away with visible anger after another wicketless over for Mumbai Indians.

Bumrah has become a topic of discussion as it's something of a rare sight as he generally keeps his emotions in check even under immense pressure but not this time as the frustration was apparent.

Bumrah's Struggle Continues

Bumrah is yet to register a wicket in the Indian Premier League 2026. He hasn't been bowling well as he is conceding runs at a higher economy rate than usual. The right-arm pacer has played five matches and has remained wicketless in all of them. The frustration is growing on both Bumrah and the team and he was one of the premier bowlers that the Mumbai Indians team was expecting a lot from especially after his performances in the earlier part of the year with the national side.

Increased pressure on MI

It has also been a torrid season for the Mumbai Indians with inconsistent performances putting them under considerable pressure. The five-time champions won their opening clash of the season, but lost four matches in the trot since then. The bowling department has found it very difficult to control proceedings. The struggles have been amplified by the fact that Jasprit Bumrah hasn't been picking up wickets as he usually does.

The viral clip just underlines the tension present in the team as they look to figure out the right solution. Such instances are quite rare for Bumrah, but also highlight his investment in the team's performance.

Mumbai Indians will be counting on their lead pacer to start performing for the rest of the tournament.
