Patralekhaa Speaks Out Against Body Shaming

Actress and producer Patralekhaa has recently taken to social media to address the body shaming she has faced following the birth of her child. While juggling the demands of motherhood and working on two films, she emphasized the need for empathy rather than judgment from online critics.

In a candid post on her Instagram stories, Patralekhaa expressed her frustration over the scrutiny regarding her body, highlighting that the changes she is experiencing are a normal part of the postpartum journey.

She remarked, "Pap pages! What’s happened to me!? is that I have just given birth!"

Responding firmly, she clarified, "I have not sat and eaten a mountain. Yes, I have gained weight, which may seem unusual to some. I just delivered a baby and produced two films at the same time, which is no small feat," referring to her husband, actor Rajkummar Rao.

Patralekhaa, who made her production debut with the film "Toaster," concluded her message by urging people to be kinder, stating, "If I could, I would not be this way. But that’s how my body has reacted to pregnancy. For God’s sake, please learn to be a little kind."

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Parvati Paul Rao, on November 15 of last year.

Rajkummar first noticed Patralekhaa in an advertisement and found her adorable, hoping to meet her one day. Their paths crossed while filming Hansal Mehta's 2014 drama "CityLights," where they developed a romantic connection.

After dating for a while, Rajkummar proposed to Patralekhaa in October 2021, and they celebrated their wedding in November 2021, surrounded by family and close friends.
